Starting process included replacing disposable parts in electrical system including battery, replacing gas tank with new steel reproduction gas tank instead of cleaning and sealing original gas tank (gas tank is only nondisposable part on car which was replaced), rebuilding fuel pump and carburator, cleaning and repairing cooling system and radiator, changing fluids in transmission and rear end, replacing hoses and belts, checking and adjusting steering system, replacing all disposable parts in brake system, except using original brake pads which were not worn, soaking engine cylinders in mystery oil, changing engine oil, hand cranking engine, then starting engine, changing fluid in power top, and replacing tires for safe driving. Top was replaced many years ago and appears as original. Have washed body but not waxed body to maintain "barn find car" appearance. Have tested paint with wax on small area and will clean and shine beautifully. Paint is not faded, cracked or peeling. Fuel guage sending unit not operating properly. Exhaust tail pipe removed and not replaced. Minor body dents do not need to be repaired. Chrome and stainless does not need to be replaced or replated. Interior is excellent except rear carpets were discarded. There is no rust on body except surface rust on right side of gravel guard, only normal surface rust on frame, some rust in rear floors as is common in all convertibles. There is no rust in engine compartment or trunk compartment. Original trunk mat in trunk. Original hubcaps and beauty rings on car. Original fender skirts on car. Cars are not new cars but used cars. You should expect normal wear and tear associated with an old car. Especially with original cars which have not been restored there are imperfections in body, interior and mechanics. You should anticipate repairs and maintenance. Although I will not intentionally misrepresent cars my representation may be different than your expectation. Although I attempt to describe and picture cars accurately my perception may be different than your reality.

I have collected cars for many years and consider them investments both for enjoyment and for profit. I observe several things which prevent purchase, enjoyment and profit with cars. Some buyers look at the parts not the car. They should evaluate the car as a whole and not in pieces. Even though it has several minor flaws, put them in perspective to the many major qualities of the car. Some buyers refuse to pay a reasonable market price for the car always trying to purchase below the market. Consequently they never buy a car and do not get the enjoyment of ownership or appreciation in value. Some buyers buy a lesser quality restored car and do not get the appreciation in value they would with a higher quality original car. The ultimate car is a one owner, low mileage, all original car.
